How the room came together.

The brief

A family home with two growing boys needed to incorporate the client’s existing curtains. I used these as the base for the colour palette plus the Japanese block print to inform the style. A bold print was chosen for the blinds for the adult sitting room, with coordinating plain fabric for reupholstering the existing sofas. Bolder colours from the palette were used on the sofas in the family room to liven up the spaces where the children and their friends socialised. The striped carpet on the staircase is a midway statement between the grown up and family style for the shared space upstairs.
