We quickly identified the client’s underlying style, a mix of industrial, Scandinavian with a love of bold strong tones from his Indian heritage. We created a look with a playful, confident use of colour blocking, vertical lines to raise the ceiling height and rugged, simple textures in metal, wool and wood. An unwieldy breakfast bar was replaced by floor to ceiling wood dividers to give a sense of separation between kitchen and living areas without losing so much space. The same device was used in the bedroom to separate the office and bedroom areas. Vertical blinds were used in the bedroom and living room to enhance the ceiling height and manage the light flooding in, with the bespoke floor to ceiling headboard and inbuilt LED lighting giving the bedroom area a clean, modern feel. The bathroom was stripped out and the floor space nearly doubled by resiting and incorporating a wall hung sink, toilet and walk in shower, taking the interior from zero to hero in one giant leap!
